The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital seeks a part-time Kitchen Services Worker, responsible for preparing and serving food in compliance with therapeutic diets. Candidates should have a background in food safety and sanitation, providing essential support to patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) under the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking qualified Kitchen Services Worker to prepare and serve food, adhering to therapeutic diets. Kitchen Services Worker are responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The incumbent is responsible for assembling, delivering and retrieving patient meal trays and working in the dish room, cleaning equipment and dishware.
Please Note: The schedule for this position is part-time,20 hrs/wk, 4:00PM - 8:00 PM, with Wednesday & Thursday as the days off.

About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital:
The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) opened October 2012. The 320‐bed recovery center and hospital serves 260 adults and 60 adolescents through an innovative design and provides a state‐of‐the‐art environment for patients and staff. For many years to come, WRCH will serve to instill hope and forward the promise of recovery from mental illness and a life of independence and self-determination for all those who pass through.
The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and supports to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery. Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least six months of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in building custodial or institutional housekeeping work.

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
