Job summary

Thistle Health Inc. in New Jersey is seeking an Associate, Cook to join a high-volume kitchen and execute daily production according to standardized recipes and schedules.

You will support the culinary team across prep, hotline, staging, and dish room while upholding GMP, safety, and quality standards. This role requires at least 2+ years in a large-scale kitchen, a high school diploma, and a strong focus on food safety, HACCP, and batch cooking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a large-scale, high-volume kitchen.
• Experience with batch cooking in a professional food production environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety and sanitation standards; ServSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to read, follow, and execute recipes with strict adherence to specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily production activities in alignment with recipes, production schedules, and kitchen guidelines.
• Maintain GMP and food safety compliance across production areas.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment (ovens, combi-ovens, tilt skillets, blixers, mixers, blenders, processors).
• Identify and escalate equipment issues to culinary leadership to ensure safe production.
• Document temperature logs, batch records, sanitation logs, and other operational data.
• Label and trace meal components with quantities, production dates, and meal codes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain production standards and performance.
