Job summary

Care Connection for Aging Services is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the Head Cook in storage, preparation, and service of meals. You will help maintain sanitation, ensure accurate portioning, and assist with inventory while meeting food safety standards and performing custodial tasks to keep the facility clean.

The role includes assisting with pre-prepare menu items for upcoming menus and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year food service experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
• Ability to follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Cook with storage, preparation, and service of food items.
• Maintain sanitation of the kitchen area in compliance with health codes.
• Ensure correct portioning of food during preparation and packaging.
• Maintain temperature and portion control for home meal delivery items.
• Assist in maintaining daily perpetual inventory system.
• Pre-prepare menu items for upcoming menus.
• Ensure food quality standards are consistently met.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local foodservice safety regulations.
• Promote the Care Connection mission to empower healthy aging experiences.
• Perform routine custodial tasks: clean floors, walls, windows, furnishings.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning tasks safely.
• Maintain adequate supplies of disposable paper products.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation meet health regulations.
