Job summary

99 Ranch Market is hiring a Kitchen Assistant in Chino Hills, CA to support grill and kitchen prep tasks. The role involves ingredient prep, portioning, basic cooking, and ensuring food quality and presentation. You will follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, and assist with dishwashing as needed.

Experience in a kitchen is preferred; a Food Handler certificate is required before starting. This on-site role offers full/part-time shifts with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior kitchen or food prep experience preferred; culinary training may substitute.
• Mandatory Food Handler certificate before starting.
• Strong knife and prep skills; ability to follow recipes and SOPs.
• Proven multitasking and ability to stay organized during rush hours.
• Excellent communication and reliability; able to follow chef instructions.

Responsibilities

• Support kitchen production activities including ingredient prep, portioning, packing, assembly and basic cooking.
• Wash, cut, portion and prepare fresh ingredients for kitchen tasks.
• Weigh and portion ingredients to meet standard sizes and taste expectations.
• Monitor ingredient quality and ensure visually appealing, cooked products.
• Maintain cleanliness of grill, prep tables, floors and utensils; assist with dishwashing.
• Follow health regulations for proper handling and storage; control temperatures where required.
• Assist with stock organization, FIFO and minimizing food waste during prep and cooking.
