Job summary

Squaxin Island Tribe in Shelton, WA is seeking a Kitchen Facilities Assistant to support safe, organized operation of the Community Kitchen and related spaces. The role includes preparing spaces for events, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with youth meal service.

You will work with youth regularly, ensuring food safety, inventory control, and proper equipment use, while supporting evening and weekend reservations and programs.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant work experience, or four years of related experience.
• Experience in a food services facility and some inventory record keeping.
• Ideal candidate has experience in food service, commercial kitchens, custodial services, or related environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Community Kitchen for reservations, events, and programs.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen spaces, equipment, and storage areas; follow food safety standards.
• Manage pantry, dry storage, refrigeration, and supply areas; monitor inventory levels.
• Support youth meal service operations and mentor youth in Tu Ha’ Buts Youth Center activities.
