Job summary

Gate Gourmet in Newark, NJ is seeking a motivated supervisor to oversee multiple kitchen departments, ensuring safety across external areas and coordinating transportation and flight delivery timing.

The role manages 30+ hourly employees, trains staff, and collaborates with HR to address performance and staffing. This is an on-site position with a focus on policy compliance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in high-volume food production or catering.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Supervises and supports lower management on daily operations.
• Coordinates transportation routing and flight delivery assignments.
• Works with maintenance staff for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Conducts inventory and minimizes waste of products and materials.
• Prepares end-of-month projections with Ops and GM.
• Prepares attendance, labor and HAACP reports as required.
• Interfaces with customers and employees to ensure service quality.
• Manages staffing levels and shifts; assigns responsibilities and workstations.
• Ensures wage & hour compliance and employee rest/breaks.
• Trains and coaches employees; handles corrective actions with HR.
