Job summary

Roche Bros. Supermarkets in Natick, MA seeks an experienced Kitchen Department Supervisor to organize, lead and optimize the kitchen operation, driving sales and high-quality displays with excellent service.

You will oversee staffing, training, inventory, pricing and merchandising while ensuring sanitation and safety standards are strictly followed. ServSafe certification is required; leadership and hands-on execution are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful experience in the kitchen operation (merchandising, ordering, inventory, pricing).
• Complete training in the kitchen operation.
• 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in the food industry.
• Must be Servsafe certified.
• Computer skills in e-mail retrieving and sending; basic word document skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.
• Authorized to work within the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide an open door atmosphere conducive to high associate morale and excellent customer service.
• Manage in a Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO) style to motivate associates.
• Promote the company image as a service-oriented operation with courteous, prompt customer service.
• Conduct and facilitate department meetings and communicate clearly.
• Ensure new department associates receive proper onboarding, review and training.
• Maintain fair and consistent discipline and high morale.
• Be responsible for inventory, security and expense control of the department.
• Ensure compliance with policies and state/federal laws applicable to the industry.
• Resolve customer complaints to full satisfaction.
• Merchandise the department to meet community needs and maintain quality.
• Train and develop associates; onboard within 30 days of hire.
• Order, receive, unload and store deliveries; manage stock and display preparation.
• Rotate products using FIFO and manage storage to limit shrink and damaged goods.
• Meet merchandising goals with store manager and buyers; manage payroll within budget.
• Adhere to wage/hour policies and maintain records; respond to location mail and records.
• Monitor refrigeration temperatures and report issues immediately.
• Offer samples, answer questions, and assist customers in finding products.
• Prepare special orders requested by customers.
• Minimize department expenses without compromising customer service.
