Job summary

StaffedUp in Houston is seeking a back-of-house supervisor to oversee kitchen cleanliness, inventory, temperatures and training of cooks.

You will set up weekly and monthly cleaning schedules, assign deep-clean tasks, check stock and cleanliness, supervise BOH staff, and conduct evaluations under the General Manager.

Starting wage is $14 per hour, negotiable based on experience; on-site, full-time position with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of foodservice kitchen management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of back of house.
• Set up a weekly and monthly cleaning schedule utilizing all staff of BOH.
• Assign deep cleaning tasks to cooks scheduled during carpet cleaning and/or hood cleaning nights.
• Set up a check out system for all cooks, ensuring stock and kitchen cleanliness.
• Supervise BOH.
• Perform evaluations of cooks under the General Manager.
• Train and supervise the training of all new cooks.
• Ensure rotation procedures are followed and overstocking is avoided.
• Create a waste sheet.
• Be aware of portioning.
• Maintain thermometers in freezers and coolers and ensure accuracy.
• Check temperatures of cold and hot products for correctness.
• Count inventory and calculate food cost.
• Complete product ordering.
