Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Kitchen Service Coordinator to oversee total kitchen operations, volunteers, and building cleanliness. The role ensures regulatory compliance and efficient food service within the Women of Hope-VINE program.

The position requires supervisory experience, food-handling certification, CPR/first aid, and a valid driver’s license. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) with some supervisory and food services experience.
• Certification in safe food handling.
• Certification in CPR and first aid.
• Direct care staff person training course/test online and has submitted the certificate of training.
• Desire to work with women with severe and persistent mental health who have experienced homelessness.
• Excellent organizational skills; flexible, hospitable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees total operation of the kitchen and coordinates volunteers.
• Supervises Janitorial staff to ensure cleanliness.
• Ensures services are delivered in accordance with state regulations and DBHID requirements.
• Prepares menus in keeping with the Daily Food Guide and PCH regulations.
• Does weekly food shopping/ordering and coordinates all food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
• Prepares the midday meal, Monday–Friday; preps the evening meal as needed.
• Responsible for submitting receipts and keeping within the food budget.
• Coordinates volunteers and food donations and assists program leadership with donations.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in trainings.
• Other duties as needed.
