Job summary

MadTree is seeking a Kitchen Manager at Alcove in Cincinnati, OH. You will own the kitchen operation, mentor a high-energy team, control food costs and inventory, and ensure top-quality plates.

The role emphasizes leadership, guest satisfaction, and collaboration with events and leadership to deliver warm, craft-driven experiences. You’ll oversee scheduling, vendor relations, and SOPs while supporting volunteer initiatives and a strong community focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of kitchen leadership in a high-volume restaurant
• ServSafe PIC/Manager certification
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Management of teams 15+ employees and weekly food sales >$40k

Responsibilities

• Manage food costs, inventory, and vendor relations with weekly reporting
• Lead and develop kitchen staff through recruiting, onboarding, training
• Maintain food quality with regular checks and standards
• Build and manage staff schedules based on forecasts and labor budgets
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards across the kitchen
• Coordinate catering with Private Events team, including menu development and staffing
• Develop SOPs and training for menu execution and kitchen workflows
• Foster a positive kitchen culture and retention strategies
• Respond to guest feedback promptly and effectively
• Support performance reviews and action plans for staff
