Job summary

Sports & Social Allentown is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead culinary operations in a high-volume venue. You will manage staff, costs, inventory, and standards to ensure an exceptional dining and beverage experience for guests.

You will work evenings and weekends, uphold sanitation per health requirements, and mentor a team of cooks and supervisors to deliver consistent quality and service.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Culinary arts courses/certifications or related degree preferred.
• 2–4 years experience supervising kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day culinary operations and staffing levels.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and uniform standards.
• Manage costing and documentation of all dishes.
• Establish inventory procedures and min/max stock levels.
• Ensure security and storage of food, inventory and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and sanitation with health department requirements.
• Resolve staff conflicts and customer service issues.
• Lead and rally staff during busy shifts.
• Interact with guests to address service concerns.
• Maintain high-quality product and service standards.
• Control food costs via ordering, inventory, and financial reports.
• Communicate cooking standards clearly to staff.
• Maintain safe working environment and sanitation.
• Organize work schedules, shipments, and cleaning schedules.
• Recruit, interview and hire supervisory/hourly staff; perform disciplinary actions.
• Train employees and mentor new staff.
• Lead by example.
