Position Summary

The Dome in Virginia Beach is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in maintaining high food standards, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring seamless food service during concerts, private events, and high-volume dining experiences.

This role pays an annual salary of $50,000-$60,000 and is bonus eligible.

This position will remain open until June 13, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring food preparation, quality, and presentation meet company standards.
  • Manage and schedule kitchen staff, ensuring proper staffing levels for all events.
  • Train and supervise kitchen employees, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain food cost control by monitoring inventory, portion sizes, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations are strictly followed.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and front-of-house managers to coordinate service.
  • Order and manage inventory, ensuring kitchen supplies and ingredients are adequately stocked.
  • Supervise food prep, cooking, plating, and service to maintain consistency and efficiency.
  • Address any equipment issues, cleanliness concerns, or kitchen operational challenges.
  • Assist in menu planning, costing, and execution in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance among kitchen staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume restaurant, catering, or event venue.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Deep understanding of kitchen operations, food safety protocols, and inventory management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor cost management, and kitchen efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain.
