Job summary

Goddard Riverside is seeking a Kitchen Maintenance team member to keep our NYC kitchen clean, safe, and well-organized. You will wash and sanitize dishes, assist with basic food prep, and support pantry operations in a fast-paced center serving thousands of New Yorkers.

The role emphasizes DOHMH compliance, sanitation excellence, and teamwork. Availability for flexible hours including holidays is required; prior kitchen or food service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Knowledge of DOHMH health, safety, sanitation and food-handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, pantry, and storage areas.
• Assist with basic food preparation and pantry operations.
• Receive, inspect, and unload food and kitchen supplies; verify deliveries.
• Operate industrial dishwashing equipment safely and wash by hand when needed.
• Assist with packaging and preparing meals for distribution and delivery to clients.
