Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is hiring at the St. Anthony Hotel in downtown San Antonio, a AAA Four Diamond luxury property with historic charm. The team delivers exceptional guest experiences and offers growth opportunities in a vibrant city setting.

Qualifications

• At least one year of culinary experience.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• TABC certification, Tips Trained and Food Handlers certification are highly preferred.
• Candidate should be organized and work with urgency to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Rotate and date food containers, maintain proper temperatures.
• Check pars and assist in maintaining buffet stock.

The Kitchen Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Opportunities for both AM and PM available

What will you be doing?

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
• Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
• Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Crescent standards.
• Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

What is required?

• At least one year of culinary experience is required.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts that include evening, weekends, and holidays.
• TABC certified, Tips Trained and Food Handlers certification are all highly preferred.
• The ideal candidate will be organized and able to work with a sense of urgency and seeking guest satisfaction.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs.
