The role requires at least one year of food service experience, a current Food Handlers Permit, and potential ServSafe certification after 90 days. Background checks and RAP Back enrollment are required by policy.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience in the food service industry.
• Must obtain a current Food Handlers Permit prior to the start of employment. Must be able to receive ServSafe certificate after 90 days of hire.
• Background check and RAP Back enrollment required per County policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Trains Kitchen Helpers and volunteers on preparation work and food plating techniques.
• Oversees the daily work tasks of Kitchen Helpers and volunteers.
• Maintains all required Health Department certificates and licenses.
• Coordinates food orders with center staff.
• Manages food preparation, cooking, temperatures, and presentation; follows portion size guidelines.
• Prepares orders for food supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Stores food products following safety practices.
• Updates daily, weekly and monthly data forms.
• Keeps kitchen and equipment clean and adheres to cleaning schedules.
• Ensures high safety and cleanliness in front and back kitchen areas.
• Follows all food safety procedures (temperature logs, cleaning, storage, gloves, handwashing).
• Provides good customer service to participants.
• Responds to participant complaints promptly with good judgement.
