Qualifications

• One year of related experience in the food service industry.
• Must obtain a current Food Handlers Permit prior to the start of employment.
• Must be able to receive ServSafe certificate after 90 days of hire.
• Background check through fingerprinting and RAP Back program per HR policy.

Responsibilities

• Trains Kitchen Helpers and volunteers on preparation work and food plating techniques.
• Oversees the daily work tasks of Kitchen Helpers and volunteers.
• Maintains all required Health Department certificates and licenses.
• Coordinates food orders with center staff.
• Manages food preparation, cooking, temperatures, and presentation; follows portion guidelines.
• Prepares orders for food supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Stores food products in compliance with safety practices.
• Completes and updates daily, weekly and monthly data forms.
• Keeps kitchen and equipment clean, following cleaning schedules.
• Maintains high safety and cleanliness in front and back kitchen areas.
• Follows all food safety procedures including logs, cleaning, storage, glove use, and hand washing.
• Provides good customer service to participants.
• Responds to participant complaints promptly with good judgement.
