Job summary

Lincoln Post Acute is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to support daily food service operations. You will set up meal trays, assist with serving, wash dishes, and help keep kitchen areas clean and sanitary while following approved procedures.

The role requires reading and following recipes, basic math, stamina to stand and lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work cooperatively with dietary staff and managers. A food handlers’ certificate is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to stand and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and be of assistance when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
