Job summary

Farmer J is hiring for kitchen team members to help prepare and serve food, keep the kitchen and service areas clean, and support fast, friendly service. You’ll work across back-of-house prep and guest-facing roles to ensure every meal meets our high standards for quality and hospitality.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in high-volume fast-casual settings, be comfortable with POS systems, and be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a high-volume fast-casual or café-style restaurant.
• Appreciation for real food and seasonal ingredients.
• Comfortable using POS systems and restaurant tech.
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Team player, collaborative and ready to pitch in.
• Calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items quickly and accurately to Farmer J's recipes and standards.
• Provide friendly, attentive service to guests and answer menu questions confidently.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Keep prep and service areas clean, stocked, and organized.
• Receive and check deliveries, rotate stock using FIFO, and minimize waste.
• Maintain proper portion control and food presentation.
• Communicate clearly with guests and team members.
• Support cleaning, closing, and other roles as needed during busy periods.
• Stay flexible and work as a team to keep service running smoothly.

Food & Customer Service is our focus - we give a fork! As a member of our Kitchen Team, you're an important part of the guest experience: often the friendly face behind the counter! You'll prepare and serve food with care, keep the kitchen and service areas clean and organized, and help maintain smooth, fast service. Kitchen team members are trained to handle multiple roles to support both back-of-house prep and guest-facing service, ensuring every meal meets Farmer J's high standards for quality and hospitality.
