Job summary

Forno Osteria and Bar Hyde Park in Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated food expeditor to ensure timely, accurate delivery from kitchen to table. You will call out orders to the chefs, coordinate with front-of-house and back-of-house, and help prepare dishes for delivery.

You must have proven expeditor experience in a restaurant, a solid understanding of health and safety rules, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as food expeditor or in a restaurant role.
• Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant.
• Dexterity with kitchen equipment and ability to carry heavy trays.
• Well-organized with leadership and direction abilities.
• Customer-oriented approach; strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and stand 4+ hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen.
• Ensure orders are prepared with correct priority.
• Assist in final preparation of dishes.
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
• Deliver orders to maintain fast service.
• Eliminate obstacles in service, food prep lines or dishwashing.
• Inspect premises for quality and sanitation standards; assist in cleaning.
• Transfer important information between kitchen and wait staff.
• Handle complaints from guests to preserve the restaurant’s reputation.
