Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety seeks a Fire Suppression Hood Technician to install, service, and inspect kitchen suppression systems and portable extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings, with the ability to complete inspections and service with minimal supervision.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, a California Fire Extinguisher Certificate (preferred), and a clean driving record, with occasional out-of-town assignments and safety-conscious operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with commercial and residential fire suppression systems.
• California Fire Extinguisher Certificate of Registration preferred.
• Experience with Ansul, Pyrochem, Amerex, Buckeye and Kiddie systems preferred.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and codes.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, or upgrade kitchen suppression systems in commercial and residential buildings.
• Test and repair systems already in place.
• Service and inspect portable fire extinguishers.
• Maintain safe working conditions and drive safely.
• Respond to emergency service calls and document results.
