Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Suppression Hood Technician in Rocklin, CA. The role focuses on installing, servicing, and testing kitchen suppression and portable extinguishers in commercial and residential settings.

Flexibility for out-of-town assignments and emergency calls is required. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fire protection, a California extinguisher certificate (OSFM) preferred, and experience with Ansul, Pyrochem, Amerex, Buckeye, or Kiddie systems.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience with commercial and residential fire suppression systems.
California Fire Extinguisher Certificate of Registration (Cal Fire OSFM) preferred.
Experience with Ansul, Pyrochem, Amerex, Buckeye and Kiddie systems preferred.
NICET Level I or higher preferred.
Clean driving record and valid license if driving role.

Responsibilities

Install, service, or upgrade kitchen suppression systems in commercial and residential buildings.
Test and repair fire suppression systems already in place.
Service, inspect, recharge, maintain, or test portable extinguishers.
Respond to emergency service calls and work with safety procedures.
Complete inspection reports and document issues clearly and timely.
Inspect and maintain truck and equipment; issue repair requests as needed.
