Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Steamboat Springs, CO is seeking a Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Hood Service Technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair of systems. The role may be at Journeyman level and requires independent work, compliance with NFPA standards, and documentation of service reports.

The position involves travel to job sites, safety adherence, and mentoring junior technicians. A high school diploma and 3+ years in the field are required; NICET Level I or higher is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, maintenance, and repair of Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Hood systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and perform corrective repairs.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
