Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Kitchen Equipment Tech to ensure all kitchen appliances operate safely and efficiently, supporting our food and beverage operations. As part of our leadership team, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, install new appliances, and uphold safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and kitchen gas appliances.
• Leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service.
• Familiarity with refrigeration systems (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all kitchen equipment.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in commercial kitchen appliances; replace worn parts.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns to minimize downtime and keep operations running.
• Assist in installation and setup of new kitchen appliances; ensure safety/compliance.

Kitchen Equipment Technician

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Kitchen Equipment Tech. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen appliances and related equipment are functioning efficiently and safely to support the food and beverage operations.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise toLead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll provide an exceptional service, collaboration, and technical expertise while ensuring commercial kitchen equipment remains safe, functional, and operating efficiently.

Position starting as early as September.

Pay Rate - $28 - $35/Hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance on all kitchen equipment. Identify potential issues before they cause equipment failure.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in commercial kitchen appliances such as ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, steamers, and mixers. Replace worn or defective parts.
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure kitchen operations continue smoothly.
• Assist in the installation and proper setup of new kitchen appliances and equipment. Ensure all new equipment meets safety and performance standards.
• Ensure all equipment meets local health and safety codes. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs for compliance audits.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and kitchen gas appliances.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

• Familiarity with refrigeration systems (a plus).
• 3+ years of experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
