Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
• Understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish to understand recipes and orders.
• Math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to follow written or spoken instructions.
• IHOP training courses as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with IHOP Team Members.
• Prepare, plate, and package food according to IHOP standards.
• Memorize IHOP galley terminology, plating, garnishing, and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
• Comply with IHOP safety, health, sanitation standards and local regulations.
• Follow uniform and appearance standards.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Stock and rotate supplies in kitchen, prep, and expo areas.
• Unload, un-box, rotate and store food, equipment and supplies.
• Handle pots, pans and utensils; wash and sanitize.
• Follow dish machine and cleaning procedures.
• Identify and remedy incorrectly prepared food before serving.
