Job summary

Carolina's Mexican Food in Peoria, IL seeks a dedicated Kitchen BOH Shift Manager to oversee back-of-house operations, staff, inventory, and food safety. You will drive cost efficiencies, ensure sanitation, and coordinate with restaurant leadership to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

The role requires strong leadership, multitasking ability, and a focus on high standards. Evening/weekend shifts are included as part of a flexible schedule. Prior ServSafe or food safety experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen management or similar in high-volume food service.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; bilingual preferred but mandatory.
• High standard of cleanliness and an understanding of sanitation regulations.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; patient and empathetic.
• Experience with cost control, inventory management, and scheduling software.
• ServSafe or other safety certifications.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and Ordering: Manage the ordering of food and kitchen supplies based on par systems and inventory needs.
• Staff Management: Schedule kitchen staff efficiently and ensure training and standards.
• Quality Control: Oversee food prep and presentation; conduct line checks and logs.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce sanitation and safety standards.d
• Communication: Maintain open lines with management and participate in meetings.
• System Maintenance: Use prep lists, order guides, and daily walkthroughs.
