Job summary

Carolina's Mexican Food in Mesa is seeking a Kitchen BOH Shift Manager to oversee back-of-house operations. You will manage kitchen staff, control inventory, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, quality control, and implementing systems to ensure efficient kitchen performance. Bilingual ability is mandatory; compensation ranges hourly.

Qualifications

• Proven kitchen management experience in a high-volume food service setting.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to mentor a team.
• Bilingual preferred but mandatory.
• High standards of cleanliness; knowledge of sanitation regulations.
• Patient, empathetic, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with cost control, inventory management, and scheduling software.
• Experience with ServSafe or equivalent safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and ordering: manage food and kitchen supplies based on par systems and inventory needs.
• Staff management: schedule kitchen staff and ensure training; adjust staffing to demand.
• Quality control: oversee food preparation and presentation; conduct line checks and temperature logs.
• Health and safety compliance: enforce sanitation and safety standards per regulations.
• Communication: maintain open lines with management; address operational concerns quickly.
• System maintenance: implement back-of-house systems like prep lists, order guides, and daily walkthroughs.
