Job summary

Drury Plaza Hotel is hiring for a Kitchen+Bar team member who supports food prep, keeps the bar area clean, and serves guests with hospitality. You will answer questions about the hotel and local events while maintaining a high standard of integrity and service to guests and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of two years of college preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per Company requirements.
• Ability to serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain food prep and Kitchen+Bar area in a clean, well-organized manner.
• Serve and assist guests while upholding Drury standards of integrity and hospitality.
• Answer questions about the hotel, area and events with knowledge of the venue.
• Assist the bartender with serving alcohol and foods as needed.

Summary: Under general supervision, this position works in the Kitchen+Bar following Company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining the food prep and Kitchen+Bar area in a clean, well-organized manner while serving and assisting guests. It is important that this team member presents a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture with customers and co-workers. Has general knowledge of the hotel, area, and events to answer questions.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of two years of college preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per Company requirements.
• Ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly.
• Ability to serve a wide variety of drinks in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs duties of prep cook or other positions as needed.
• Ability to handle money, make change and utilize office machines in normal day-to-day activities.
• Ability to operate machines and equipment used, including but not limited to, include cash register POS software, dishwashers, kitchen equipment, etc.
• Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of team members; ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism including bar guests and when leading other team members.
• Ability to support bartender with serving of alcohol beverages and food, but does not prepare, make, or pour alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to clean and maintain areas for which responsible.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around bar area.
• Ability to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
