Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a physical examination.
• High school graduate preferred.
• No less than six (6) months experience in kitchen related work.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals for Title VI program.
• Prepares menus in advance to meet the special dietary needs of elderly and employees.
• Prepares food supply lists for Program Director to order.
• Raw food.
• Kitchen supplies.
• Utensils.
• Kitchen staples.
• Responsible for all related kitchen duties and practices.
• Sanitation.
• Health.
• Safety.
• Food storage.
• Temperature checks daily on food served, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Responsible for specific cleaning duties.
• Record keeping of the following items: Daily meal count of all meals served, Daily sign-in meal sheet, Daily count of units of service.
• Periodically surveys food likes and dislikes from participants.
• May at times deliver meals when needed to fill in for one of the transporters.
• Relationships to other position and organizational entities.
• Work as a team in the kitchen with the assistant cook.
