Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas is seeking staff to prepare, cook and package meals in accordance with approved menus. The role includes cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and related areas, maintaining records, and assisting in meal delivery as needed.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, and maintain safety and sanitation standards. Health card and food certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record, be eligible for Agency vehicle operation, pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks and packages meals to approved portions and menus.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, dining and storage areas.
• Assists in the delivery of meals when directed.
• Stocks food and supplies in refrigerators, freezers and storage areas.
• Maintains refrigerators, freezers and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Records food and equipment temperatures per standards.
