Job summary

Kaw Nation in Kaw City is seeking a Title VI Cook’s Assistant to support the elder meals program. You will assist with meal preparation, sanitation, and inventory while ensuring meals meet dietary needs.

A physical exam is required; HS diploma preferred; at least 6 months kitchen experience and a valid driver's license are required. Daily duties include meal prep, menu planning, supply ordering, and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Requires a physical examination.
• High school graduate preferred.
• No less than six (6) months experience in kitchen related work.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals for Title VI program.
• Prepares menus in advance to meet the special dietary needs of elderly and employees.
• Prepares food supply lists for Program Director to order.
• Record keeping: daily meal count, daily sign-in meal sheet, daily count of units of service, periodic surveys of likes/dislikes.
• May deliver meals when needed to fill in for one of the transporters.
• Work as a team in the kitchen with the assistant cook.
