Job summary

Chick-fil-A 169 and Barry Road is seeking a Back of House Assistant Director to lead a fast-paced kitchen team with a focus on safety, quality, and guest satisfaction. The role requires dependable leadership and flexible availability including holidays.

You will oversee daily procedures, provide feedback to the Director of Training, manage inventory, and open or close shifts while upholding Chick-fil-A standards and core values.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role in a high volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Bilingual is strongly preferred.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Execute proper procedures in back of house and provide feedback to the Director of Training.
  • Complete daily quality and safety checks (SAFE Daily Critical and ERQA).
  • Maintain cleanliness standards across day parts and ensure packaging, food presentation, speed and quality meet Chick-fil-A standards.
  • Create a culture of food safety with a relentless pursuit of providing quality food, quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized BOH environment and organize inventory.
  • Open and/or close the restaurant and lead shifts as needed.
  • Lead and model Beacon on Barry mission, vision and core values with Guests and Team Members.
  • Meet with supervisor weekly/bi-weekly to discuss team and business results.
  • Lead special projects and ensure CEM metrics are met; communicate scores weekly.
  • Collaborate with leadership to promote safety, wellbeing, and growth of the team and organization.
  • Communicate effectively and share ideas with a positive approach.

Chick-fil-A 169 and Barry Road is growing this fall!

We are looking for an excellent leader to join our team! A Back of House Assistant Director is integral to the success of a restaurant. This role requires someone who is passionate about service, is reliable, and is able to lead a team.

Flexible availability is critical. Many major holidays are required and flexibility with morning and evening shifts.

Responsibilities
Operations
  • Ensure we are executing proper procedures in every back of house position and provide ongoing feedback to the Director of Training.
  • Ensure daily quality and safety checks are completed (SAFE Daily Critical and ERQA).
  • Ensure all day parts consistently and systematically meet cleanliness standards.
  • Protect the Guest experience by ensuring packaging, food presentation, speed and quality meets or exceeds Chick-fil-A standards.
  • Create a culture of food safety with a relentless pursuit of providing quality food, quickly and accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Ensure BOH inventory is organized properly.
  • Open and/or close the restaurant and lead shifts as-needed.
Leadership
  • Lead and model the Beacon on Barry mission, vision and core values with Guests and Team Members.
  • Meet with your supervisor weekly/bi-weekly to discuss team and business results.
  • Lead special projects assigned by your supervisor.
  • Ensure CEM metrics are being met and communicated weekly to the team. Create action plans to rectify any scores below expectations.
  • Collaborate with leadership in order to promote and enact policies to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and growth of the team and organization.
  • Communicate effectively, share ideas, & take a positive approach to all situations.
Team Development
  • Meet with your direct reports bi-weekly/monthly to discuss team and business results.
  • Resolve conflicts and address issues within the team in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Promote a growth mindset and continuous learning environment within the team.
  • Set team goals, share the score visually and celebrate the wins.
  • Hold team members accountable to all policy standards (i.e. timeliness, grooming, cell phones, uniforms etc.).
  • Provide both formal and informal feedback to the team on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations for Team Leads in BOH.
  • Ensure disciplinary action is given fairly and consistently.
Financial
  • Own food cost results by controlling waste in the kitchen, following Lean systems, ensuring there is no overproduction, that food/paper is not being wasted, and waste is being tracked.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance is completed regularly.
