Job summary

Meals on Wheels and More on Orcas Island is hiring a Kitchen Assistant/Cook to prep, package, and serve meals for seniors. The shift runs 8:00am–2:00pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with daytime hours that fit around other jobs. $21+/hr (DOE) supports paid time off and retirement contributions after one year.

You’ll assist with meal prep, packaging, inventory, and records, helping keep seniors nourished and connected in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current WA State Food Worker Card.
• 1+ years of culinary experience (high-volume or institutional a plus).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Team player with a good attitude and strong customer service skills.

Meals on Wheels and More, a program of the Whatcom Council on Aging, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant/Cook to help prepare, package, and serve meals for seniors on Orcas Island. It's steady, daytime work: 8:00am to 2:00pm (times may vary), Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. $21+/hr (DOE)
