Job summary

Youth In Need is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in preparing nutritious meals for children and ensuring safe, compliant kitchen operations. You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager and staff to maintain high standards and a child-centered food service program.

Ideal candidates bring two years of commercial kitchen experience, familiarity with health and sanitation regulations, CACFP guidelines, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a commercial kitchen setting or management.
• Experience cooking for large groups and in a childcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Health and Sanitation Regulations and CACFP guidelines.
• ServSafe Certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification are required.

This Position

We are interested in a Kitchen Assistant with a minimum of two years in a commercial kitchen management, experience in training others in kitchen management and cooking techniques. Cooking in a childcare setting is preferred.

We're looking for someone with experience cooking for large groups and in a childcare setting. Knowledge of Health and Sanitation Regulations and familiarity with CACFP and related guidelines. Having your ServSafe Certification is a bonus and is required within 30 days of hire.

Ability to be CPR certified and First Aid certified required.

Drivers license is required, local travel required, and must be insurable under Youth In Need auto liability coverage. Must be sensitive to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the service population.

Must be able to work 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday thru Friday and some occasional evenings to support school events.

This is an hourly position, starting at $18.19/hour.
