Job summary

Youth In Need in Missouri is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen Manager and staff in preparing and delivering nutritious meals for children while keeping kitchen operations efficient and compliant with safety standards. The ideal candidate has at least two years in a commercial kitchen, experience training others in kitchen management and cooking techniques, and familiarity with CACFP guidelines.

ServSafe certification is a bonus and required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a commercial kitchen management role.
• Experience training others in kitchen management and cooking techniques.
• Cooking in a childcare setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of Health and Sanitation Regulations; CACFP familiarity.
• ServSafe Certification is a bonus and required within 30 days of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Driver's license, insurability for Youth In Need vehicle, and local travel.
• Must be sensitive to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of the service population.
