Job summary

Aurora and Rehab Center is a 35-bed skilled nursing facility seeking a dependable Part-Time Kitchen Aide/Cook to prepare nutritious meals and meet dietary needs in a healthcare setting.

The role requires knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety, and large-scale meal preparation; schedule is 16-24 hours/week with a 12:00 pm–8:30 pm shift and rotating weekends/holidays. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes and standardized production sheets.
• Understanding of sanitation practices and basic kitchen safety procedures.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care with knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Serve meals that meet resident dietary restrictions and physician-ordered diet modifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas per health regulations.
• Assist in inventory, labeling and storing food and supplies as necessary.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and nursing team.

About Nursing and Rehab Center

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Kitchen Aide/Cook to join our team in a 35-bed skilled nursing facility. This position plays a vital role in providing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and restrictions. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about therapeutic diets, food safety, and large-scale meal preparation.

• Schedule is 16-24 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

• Shift is 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Serve meals that meet resident dietary restrictions and physician-ordered diet modifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas per health regulations.
• Assist in inventory, labeling and storing food and supplies as necessary.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff and nursing team.
