Job summary

Rose Bakery in Los Angeles (DSM LA) is seeking an Entry-level Kitchen Assistant to support the Café Manager in a busy kitchen. You’ll help with inventory control, waste management, and ensuring health and safety standards are followed.

Your duties include cleaning, food prep assistance, equipment washing, and maintaining the Barista station while contributing to a positive, energetic team environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of food prep areas.
• Properly store and wash cooking appliances, utensils, dishes.
• Assist meal prep: washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors; wipe kitchen walls.
• Organize and correctly store food supplies.
• Transfer meal ingredients from storage to the kitchen as instructed.
• Maintain Barista station with supplies and execute the drink menu daily.

Job Overview:

At Rose Bakery, the Kitchen Assistant supports the Café Manager in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. Responsibilities include assisting with inventory control, managing garbage removal, and ensuring that health and safety standards are consistently followed throughout the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of food preparation areas in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.
• Properly storing and washing all cooking appliances, utensils, dishes, etc.
• Aiding in meal preparation tasks including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
• Transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the team’s instructions.
• Able to properly maintain Barista station with supplies and execute the drink menu daily.
