Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support daily meal service and kitchen operations. You will learn the food service routine quickly, set up meal trays, and assist with serving meals under the Cook and dietary supervisor.

Responsibilities include operating the dishwasher, recording temperatures, cleaning surfaces, and maintaining a sanitary work area. A high school diploma or equivalent and a food handlers’ certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to learn food service routines quickly.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and maintain floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Keep kitchen clean and sanitary and assist cook or supervisor when needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
