Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks a K-5 Homeroom Teacher at Archway Trivium Academy in Goodyear, AZ. You’ll guide students with a welcoming classroom, using the Great Hearts curriculum and content across History, Science, and Literature.

You’ll collaborate with an Assistant/Apprentice teacher, monitor progress, uphold school culture, and engage families to foster a joyful, truth-seeking learning environment. Background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in elementary teaching preferred.
• Ability to implement the Great Hearts curriculum across core subjects.

Responsibilities

• Teach K-5 homeroom with a love of learning.
• Deliver lessons in phonics, math, history, science, and literature.
• Collaborate with an Assistant/Apprentice teacher to support students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

About the K-5 Teacher Role:

• As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.

• Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.

• As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.

• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.

• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Required/Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
