Job summary

Great Hearts Invictus Lower School in Helotes, TX is hiring 3rd–5th Grade Teachers to join a growing network of classical, tuition‑free public schools. This salaried‑exempt role starts at $40,000 and reports to the Headmaster.

You will teach with the Great Hearts curriculum, including Spalding Phonics and Singapore Mathematics, alongside History, Science and Literature. An Assistant/Apprentice teacher supports you, and all qualified majors are welcome with a Bachelor’s or higher degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role.
• Certification is not required for general education.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Salary: Starting at $40,000

About the K-5 Teacher Role:

• As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.
• Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.
• As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.
