Great Hearts Academies in San Antonio, TX seeks an Elementary Teacher with a Math/Science focus for 4th–5th grades to inspire curiosity, cultivate the love of learning, and uphold the Great Hearts mission. Lead with the Great Hearts curriculum, collaborate with an Assistant/Apprentice teacher, maintain an orderly, joyful classroom, and engage families through conferences and school events.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
