Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an Archway Teacher to guide K-5 students in a nurturing homeroom setting. You will use the Great Hearts curriculum to foster a love of learning, while collaborating with an Assistant/Apprentice teacher in the classroom.

You will communicate with families, monitor student progress, and participate in school events, while upholding school culture and safety policies. A bachelor’s degree is required; certification is not required for general education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

About the K-5 Teacher Role:

• As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.
• Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.
• As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
