Job summary

Durham Academy is seeking a permanent full-time Kindergarten teacher to begin November 12, 2026. The Preschool serves about 100 students in Pre-K and Kindergarten, with 18 students per classroom led by a lead teacher and teaching assistant.

The role focuses on setting learning goals, preparing materials, leading instruction, assessing progress, communicating with families, and supporting supervisory duties, reporting to the Preschool Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in education)
• At least three years of teaching experience in an early childhood classroom
• Experience working with children in an educational environment
• A demonstrated commitment to professional growth, collaboration and collegiality
• A passion and love for meeting the social and academic needs of Preschool students
