The role supports classroom instruction and daily school operations under the classroom teacher, working with individuals or small groups to reinforce skills. The responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with routines, preparing materials, and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits or equivalent.
• High school diploma with ParaPathways/ParaPro assessment required.
• Experience with children in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist the teacher in supporting student learning based on individual needs.
• Administer, score, and record assignments and assessments as directed.
• Guide independent, enrichment, and remedial activities prepared by the teacher.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, arrivals/dismissals, lunch/recess, field trips, and events.
• Assist students with daily routines including lunch, snack, and transitions.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and confidentiality of student information.
• Follow directions from supervising staff and participate in professional development.
