ER9 District in Easton, CT is seeking a Paraeducator to support teachers in creating engaging, inclusive classrooms for elementary students. You will provide instructional and supervisory assistance, helping maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, specialists, and staff, with duties including material preparation, classroom organization, and student supervision during various school activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and one to three years of experience in education, child care, youth development, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
• Ability to implement teacher-directed instructional strategies and classroom routines.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students while encouraging independence and personal responsibility.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities for individual students, small groups, and the whole class.
• Reinforce academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and organizational skills as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Support student learning by providing instructional assistance during classroom lessons, centers, intervention groups, and enrichment activities.
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, technology, bulletin boards, displays, and classroom resources.
• Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and appropriate behavior.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, field trips, and other school activities as assigned.
