Job summary

Edmonds School District is seeking a paraeducator I to support kindergarten classroom activities and supervise lunch periods. The role collaborates with certificated staff, assists with instructional tasks, and helps maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Compensation includes hourly pay between $29.61 and $33.52, with a 3-hour daily schedule across a 181-day calendar. Requires education options and safety training; benefits align with SEBB guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: associate degree or higher; 72 quarter credits/48 semester credits at 100 level or higher; completed paraeducator apprenticeship; or PESB-approved assessment (ParaPathways, Pearson Paraprofessional, Master Teacher).
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to acquire; de-escalation and physical restraint training required for self-contained classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Works with certificated staff in classrooms or learning environments; assists with instructional support and student supervision.
• Prepares educational materials; monitors student progress, behavior, and safety.
• Performs routine clerical tasks to support teachers and district staff.

Education
