Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal of Instruction to support the School Leadership Team in driving academic and student culture outcomes. You will supervise, coach, and develop a cohort of teachers, manage priorities, and champion the school-wide vision to help students pursue college, career, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• Texas Teacher Certification (preferred).
• 2 years of teaching experience (required).
• 1 year teacher leader experience with a record of results managing and coaching teachers and/or teacher leaders to improved academic and culture outcomes for students (required).
• Strong record of ensuring students achieve academic success (required).
• Experience working in education partnering with historically underserved communities and communities of color (preferred).
• Previous school-level leadership experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Act as member of School Leadership Team.
• Support the development and implementation of the School Leader's school-wide vision and mobilize teachers to achieve goals.
• Own implementation of select school-wide priorities and initiatives.
• Champion KIPP TX core values and build a community of team and family.
• Operationalize school-wide academic and student culture systems and routines.
• Lead annual goal setting for assigned grades/departments.
• Monitor progress towards goals using campus and regional systems.
• Coach teachers and develop teacher leaders.
• Lead data collection and assessment to evaluate school climate and student progress.
• Manage and coach a team of teachers to achieve student outcomes.
