Job summary

Holy Family in San Jose, CA, seeks an Instructional Assistant to support Kindergarten instruction and supervise students during breaks. This full-time role reports to the Principal and helps maintain a well-organized, safe classroom environment so students can engage with the instructional program.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), English proficiency, and basic tech skills. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years’ experience implementing educational programming with students.
• Experience supervising children.
• Training to perform tasks as directed by Principal/Teacher.
• English language required; bilingual preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certified.
• Proficient with SIS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google apps.
• Able to use classroom devices and Workday or willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support the Teacher in classroom management and instruction.
• Report progress on student performance and behavior.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean learning environment.
• Tutor small groups, monitor drills and assignments.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and lesson plans.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom; ensure wellbeing.
• Attend meetings and work as part of the school team.
