Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing duties or specialized tasks.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt curriculum to pupils' needs.
• Assist in maintaining standard of student behavior.
• Prepare instructional materials; read to students.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and age-appropriate engagement.
• Help plan daily and long-range lessons and activities.
• Conduct learning exercises with small groups.
• Escort and assist children as necessary.
• Check students' work for compliance with instructions.
• Maintain records for each student.
• Select and check out library materials for teacher's use.
• Perform related work as required.
