Job summary

Asheville City Schools is hiring a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant for Hall Fletcher Elementary. This ten-month, full-time role collaborates with the lead teacher to support instruction and student learning in a dynamic elementary classroom.

The position requires a high school diploma (or higher) and some college coursework, plus the ability to work with diverse students, maintain confidentiality, and use instructional materials effectively. Training and workshops are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with college credits as specified.
• Experience supporting elementary students preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and small-group instruction.
• Maintain student confidentiality.
• Provide instructional materials and prepare activities.
• Supervise students in class, on bus, and during activities.
• Support health management and attendance reporting.
• Assist with testing proctoring.
• Attend workshops as requested.
• Prepare and file documents as required.
