Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with basic math and computer skills.
• Forklift certification as required by department or facility.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate and document kiln/furnace operations per instructions and dept. procedures.
• Take readings and maintain firing within specifications for kilns/furnaces.
• Adjust timings using computer software; restart kilns after outages or surges as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on kilns/furnaces as required.
• Address firing issues by corrective actions and notify supervisors as needed.
• Move heavy kiln cars manually when required; load/unload materials up to 80% of the time.
• Rebuild kiln cars and track kiln furniture quality and inventories.
• Assist in other areas as needed; support multiple shifts.
